How do I add items to my registry?

There are two ways you can place items into your registry (Click here for details on each option):

1) While in your VelvetTAG.com™ gift registry you can manually add an item directly to your registry.

2) By adding our special VelvetTAG.com™ link button into your links browser, you can then add a gift item to your personal gift registry from any website by clicking on "add gift to my VelvetTAG" button located on your link browser.

Is there a way to limit access to my gift registry?

Yes, just assign a guest password when you register. If you've already registered, you can add a guest password by going to the "Edit Registry Details" section of your registry. There is a password option when you register which ONLY allows people with your password to visit your site. The downside to this is that not everyone who wants to buy you a gift will be able to view your registry.

How can I edit my account and/or change my personal details?

After you log in, go to your account page and click on the link "Edit Account Info".

How do I mark an item as purchased?

Once an item has been purchased VelvetTAG will ask if you have purchased the item.

How do I purchase a gift off of a registry?

Once you found the gift you want to purchase click buy this gift and you will be taken directly to the merchant that carries that gift and purchase it directly with that merchant.

How do I avoid duplicate gifts?

It’s up to the purchaser to manually answer the question “yes, this gift has been purchased”. However, VelvetTAG.com cannot guarantee that the purchase was actually made.

Can I add gifts not found online to my gift registry?

Yes, there is a section for miscellaneous gifts where you can manually add items that aren't found in online store websites. Here you can add your own picture, description, price, and title of the gift you would like to receive.

How do I let gift-givers know where I am registered?

When you first register, you can enter email addresses of family and friends and you can send them an email letting them know about your VelvetTAG.com™ gift registry. You may edit or add email addresses at anytime in the Invite Friends section.

Can I really register gifts from any store I like?

Yes, by using the "add gifts" button in your links bar. Click here for more details.

How do I register for multiple occasions?

At VelvetTAG.com™ we make it easy for you; only one registry for multiple occasions. When you choose the items for your registry there is a box with a list of occasions to choose from.

How do I deactivate or close my registry?

At any time you may close your registry by going to "Edit Registry Details" and click "Deactivate Account". Your gift-givers will no longer be able to find your gift registry.

Is it possible to link directly to my registry from any personal web page (or MySpace.com)?

Yes, we provide a number of direct links into your gift registry. Many people use these links to customize their personal web pages. The links can also be emailed to friends or printed on invitations.

Basically you can place a link to your VelvetTAG gift registry wherever you can place text. If you know some basic HTML you can dress up the links.

How do I find gifts to add to my gift registry?

Once you have registered and completed the "Getting Started" instructions, you will end with “Go Shopping” where you will be directed to thousands of merchants to choose from, find the item you want. If you already have a VelvetTAG.com gift registry you will log onto your registry and go to "Manage Gifts".

Can gifts be shipped directly to the gift-giver?

Yes, as long as the registrant filled in his/her shipping address.

How do I add guest emails to my registry list?

Go to "Invite Friends" (in navigation bar) and go to "Add more friends to your list".

What if I have multiple items to enter, like movies for example, that are all from the same place. Do I have to enter them one at a time?

Yes, this is a way you keep track of which items have been purchased.

What if my browser is causing the pop-ups to be blocked from VelvetTAG.com?

You can configure your web browser to display pop-ups appropriately from VelvetTAG.com by following these instructions.
